We arrive in the evening and check into Trekkers Hostel, ready for the mountain adventure.

DAY 3 – Trek to Sine Camp – 2596 meters

08:00 briefing at Trekkers Hostel (base camp 1450 meters). After the briefing, the trek begins, with overnight stay at Sine hut at 2596 meters – a day with an elevation gain of 1146 meters. For more advanced trekkers, continuing to Kalalama camp at 3134 meters is possible, providing more time for acclimatization at Mutinda camp and the opportunity to climb to Mutinda Lookout at 3975 meters.
We start with a climb through a valley filled with tall trees from the Afromontane forest zone. This is a steady climb with many birds and the opportunity to see blue monkeys. Sometimes groups of 15–20 black-and-white colobus monkeys can be observed, and with some luck – the rare L'Hoest monkeys. The area is rich in plant species – from forest trees and bamboo to mosses, lichens, and fungi. The Enock waterfalls are located just 200 meters from the hut.
Sine camp is located on a narrow ridge among tall trees, with a wonderful view of a waterfall in the deep valley. In the evening, you can sit by the campfire and talk with the guides about the mountain and their life. The area also has a rich diversity of birds.
Ascent: 1146 m
Distance: 9.5 km
Time: 5–7 hours

DAY 4 – Trek to Mutinda Camp – 3588 meters

From there, the trail continues along a ridge with small hills, crosses streams and waterfalls, passing by mossy riverbeds and old lichen-covered trees.
